Art As Therapy: The Power of Creation #CreativeCareCoach

Image
Have you guys ever taken part of or seen a snippet of a real therapeutic art making session? I had not myself...and when I finally found a real art facilitator? I was so inspired I went back to school to obtain my Therapeutic Art Certification so I could help others similarly. Here is a short video clip on the power of creation and how it directly helps us rewire ourselves for the better...! https://youtu.be/WewgfOcpolA?si=2Xos6pPI3VMiQJxy

Snippet of Actual Art Therapeutic Session with Kerra

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RN6Hg3kPm8g Have you ever been inside or seen an art creative session before? I am totally excited to share forward a snippet of an actual art therapeutic session with you! 😃❤ https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RN6Hg3kPm8g 🔥Your time in doing so is MUCH appreciated--thank you if you choose to subscribe!!! 😘❤ I understand that art as therapy is new to many---after literally being shown by our educators that art was 'child's play' when they removed it from the schools....it's time to rethink this view to me! Art as therapy has been used for as long as we can record time...the process of creating? That's actually part of being human! Isn't that so cool? It's literally part of 'us'! It's not 'for children'--creating is for everyone! In our modern society, creating is not seen as valuable and important--it's for 'boredom' time and coloring books seem to be the 'go to' in mosts' minds when...

Time Lapse Watercolor Sketch on Site Hornbek Estate Florissant Colorado

Happy day to you, creative souls! :) https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nv4LOfCZFwU?feature=share Here is a short time lapse of a watercolor sketch on location. I've really been having fun challenging myself to sketch our local sites, structures, waterways and old ruins...I find them invigorating! How fun it is to me to ponder upon their origination and see first hand their current state today. All the stories told to us about our past and our ancestors--and going out first hand to experience them myself? A dream come true!

Pendants made in our Fire Kiln! #fireduphighpottery

Happy day to you, creative souls! My son growing up to share forward his creativity with others? Oh, a dream come true! He made this personalized pendant and fired it up in our unqie fire-kinn process to vitrify it, (that is, to turn the clay into 'stone'!). :) We have learned so much since we started our clay collaboration and today? I am super proud of his finished pieces and smiles he shares along the way of their creation. Have you had a chance to play with clay yourself? oh, it's just wonderful! The feel of it in your hands, the way it's so easily moldable and shapable--changable and mallable...fantastic! Pondering upon lfes lessons while doing so? It does wonders for ones mind--we are our own litmus for test for that! :) Thank you for taking a peak--we'll share more about our fire kiln process moving forward for those intersted! :) Here is a short reel of the finished piece: https://www.facebook.com/reel/410208638404767

Click here to see the short time lapse! :) Happy day to you, creative souls! :) My name is Kerra, and I am a creative care coach--that is: a non-clinical art therapist: a creative art facilitator. I use art as therapy to help others address issues of anxiety, trauma, relationship dynamics, abuse, special needs as caregivers. Many options and angles are available to us all to create and literally transform our lives from the inside out.   Isn't it amazing that we can and do actually transform ourselves every time we create--isn't that incredible? New neuron connection with each creation we put into play! True brain transformations of 'us' for the better--yippee! <3

Manitou Cliff Dwellings revisited with new aware eyes! :)

What a wonderful experience! Have you ever been? Being able to visit places like this from our past is such a gift to me! These high elevations, these old world ruins...so much to ponder upon! The old roman-style arches that are behind these placed bricks they say they moved from Mesa Verde are quite something...! The 'Cave' opening as the gift shop is extraordinaire! The shop is a level 10 masterpiece to me--and if you got to visit here yourself? Perhaps you may agree!
